I was doing my devotions this morning, and it talked about Abraham finally getting the son that he wanted. And despite the fact that at first, Abraham doubted that god would keep his promise, and he didn't do God's way first by sleeping with his wife's Egyptian maidservant (Haggar), God STILL kept His promise to bless his offspring, and make his son a GREAT NATION.
Though Isaac DID father great nations, Ishmael (son of Haggar) ALSO fathered MANY people.

It all just shows that it does NOT depend on OUR doings. God remains faithful DESPITE OUR UNFAITHFULNESS. Even when we don't do God's way, God STILL keeps His promises.
